Elia Serves as Round I and II Judge for Social Impact Business Plan Competition
(COLUMBUS, OH) The 2009-2010 Social Impact Business Plan Competition selected Mike Elia, President of Elia & Partners, to serve as a Round I and Round II judge. The competition was conducted by the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and the Center for Strategic Philanthropy and Civil Society at the Sanford School of Public Policy.
“I believe it is important to help those with innovative solutions for meeting the social problems we face both globally and in the U.S.,” Elia said. “With my own business experience, coupled with my business development and merger and acquisition background, being able to help identify meaningful social sector initiatives is extremely rewarding.”
The Social Impact Business Plan Competition identifies social sector scaling initiatives with demonstrated impact and readiness to grow – and supports them with up to $100,000 of financial and consulting awards. The Competition helps develop a strong pipeline of growth ready organizations and provides them with the resources to successfully take the next steps in their growth trajectory. The competition drew over 200 applications.
